Supporting School Lunch Programs
We are dedicated to supporting school lunch programs through our collaboration with Zim Zim, LLC. By leveraging our bulk purchasing power, Zim Zim, LLC effectively meets the pricing needs of free and reduced meal programs. This partnership allows us to supplement school lunch programs by providing discounted rates for students to enjoy locally sourced, nutritious meals. We aim to ensure students can access high-quality meals, fostering healthy eating habits from a young age.
Empowering Farmers, Ensuring Fair Pricing, and Improving Food Access
We contract with farmers to purchase high produce volumes, ensuring stable sales throughout the year. Through our network of restaurants, food service providers, and cold storage capacity, we can purchase a larger proportion of a farmer's products, increasing their revenue and offering them a more stabilized demand while affording us a lower purchase price point and minimizing food waste. Additionally, we offer farm products at a weekly bazaar and produce market at a more affordable price point to consumers, benefiting them and their communities.
Community Support and Strengthening the Local Food Economy
Humble Bumble was created to help nourish our city and those in need. Our goal is to work with local farmers to distribute locally grown produce throughout our community and provide tasty and nutritious meals for our school lunch programs. Food insecurity shouldn’t be an issue in a city famous for food. Sadly, New Orleans is the second most food-insecure city in the country. This greatly affects our children’s ability to thrive, repeating a vicious cycle that is plaguing New Orleans. It is time for us to help us. “Do Work, Do Right!!!
